School leaver joins the team at EM Recruiting – A Harrogate based recruitment agency!

Darcy Fox has just finished school and straight away started full time work as an apprentice. Darcy has just finished sitting her A-Levels at St. Aidan’s and St. John Fishers Associated Sixth Form. After her last exam she joined the business to get a head start and start her potential career early!

Currently, Darcy is doing general office work such as building a database from scratch, receiving and sending emails to clients and candidates, editing CV’s, writing job specs and looking closely to see what candidates would fit each role.

From doing the apprenticeship Darcy will gain a NVQ level 3 in Business Administration, which can help her in many ways and give her lots of opportunities to progress in her career.

Darcy’s reasoning for choosing an Apprenticeship over University:

“ I have never had my heart set on going to University, one reason being I would have no idea what to study, and two I think employers look more for experience rather than qualifications. Going to University would be good for the social side of things but for me school was enough, I would much rather be learning whilst doing the job.

I am really happy here in my new job as a Recruitment Administrator, and I really enjoy the work that I do. The job is varied and I look forward to coming to work, If this is what full time work is then I love it and cannot wait to see where it takes me!!”
