Merchandiser / Buyer

 

A once in a life time opportunity to work with an up and coming e-commerce and events company with a current turnover of £6bn and only set to grow, our client based in Keighley are in the position recruit a Merchandiser / Buyer to work within the buying team.

 

Our client is a forward thinking and rapidly growing events and e-commerce company. They are a fast-moving growing company offering an exciting new position within their buying team for a merchandiser.

Main roles and responsibilities:

·       Plan and develop a strategy to enable the company to sell a range of products that delivers sales and profit targets.

·       Work closely with the team to ensure the products will achieve the sales plan

·       Analyse past sales figures/trends to anticipate future product needs.

·       Devise and deliver the merchandise plan

·       Devise a contract for the suppliers including quality control, accuracy and flexibility.

·       Allocating certain amounts of stock, to each area of the business to allow for maximum flexibility.

·       Monitor stock movement, consider markdowns, promotions or clear outs etc.

·       Chase suppliers for delivery of stock to the right place, on time.

 

 

Skills, experience and qualification:

·       Experience of the retail industry with an understanding of customers’ needs, and economic trends would be an advantage

·       Trustworthy

·       Analyse data to identify trends and potential risks and opportunities.

·       Excellent communication skills with a confident and positive attitude

·       Resilience to pressure and the ability to make judgements in a calm and controlled manner

·       Ability to multitask and work on several projects with strong personal organisation skills

 

Hours: Full time position, 40 hours per week.

 

In return, our client is offering a salary of circa £34k, however this could be negotiable depending on experience.
